New Jersey Devils tickets are always a treat. Last season, the Devils went into the playoffs full of confidence and after taking the Atlantic Division Championship, they marched into the playoffs against the Carolina Hurricanes but were left dejected as the Hurricanes eliminated the Devils in 7 games. Head Coach Brent Stutter stepped down on June 9, citing personal and family reasons but just three days later, Stutter was announced as the head coach of the Calgary Flames. Jaques Lemaire was named as the new head coach on July 13, 2009.
Looking to get back into the playoffs, the Devils resigned Travis Zajac to a 4-year $15.55 million contract and Johnny Oduya to a 3-year $10.5 million contact and three other undisclosed contracts for Andy Greene, Brendan Shanahan and Pierrre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond.
